   Absolutely. My daughter is taking one specializing in Transportation. She won a very prestigious fellowship and has been offered a fully paid doctorate. At a minimum, it will earn you a salary on par with the engineers. Someone has to make sure their projects get done. We engineers would much rather work on the technology and leave the managing to people who specialize in that stuff.

   Management degrees for Engineers are worthwhile if they are part-time and paid for by the employer.

   Normally, only Engineers with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering are eligible for a Master’s in Engineering Management.

   There are so-called MSIT degrees in Industrial Technology (or MSIM—Industrial Management), which do not require an Engineering Bachelor’s. These degrees are offered by schools accredited by NAIT/ATMAE.
