   Honestly if I "have money" I will hire someone to assist me in my own home.

   Medical services, transportation, social interaction, activities inside and outside the facility, apt like setting with a bathroom and breakfast kitchen, meal planners (you will have many different diets that need to be professionally met), employees, 24 hour monitoring services, meeting rooms for families when their own apt is not large enough for them all to attend, gym, laundry facilites for individual use or for someone YOU hire to provide laundry services, beautiful dining rooms with real plates beautiful glass ware and nice silver service, allowance of pets and perhaps even someone who can walk the dogs etc, shopping services… That is just a small start.

   NEVER call it a retirement "home" call it a Retirement community or complex.

   ADMIN I.E., (A ROOM FOR ALL ADMINISTRATIVE WORKSTHATS FROM ADMISSIONS).
   ROOM FOR INDOOR SPORTS(CARROMS,CHESS,AND SO ON).
   BED ROOMS(MAY BE 1 ROOM FOR 2)WITH ATTACHED TOILETSAND OTHER AMINITIES
   A SMALL LIBRARY
   ROOM FOR ENTERTAINMENT(T.V, MUSIC SYSTEM)
   MEDICAL FACILITIES WITH A DOCTOR AND SMALL MEDICAL SHOP IN IT.
   DINNING AREA
   PANTRY
   KITCHEN
   OPEN SPACES WITH LANDSCAPING FOR RELAXATION WITH SOME SEATING ARRANGEMENTS.
   SPACE FOR OUTDOOR GAME AND JOGGING TRACK.AND A POOL.AND AN OPEN AIR AUDITORIUM.

   GENERAL REQUIREMENTS WOUID BE:
   PROVIDING HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT, GOOD FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT, PROPER LIGHT AND VENTILATION AND SO ON.

   it is a great idea.

   apart from money making you give facilities at their cost

   few years back i took one old age widow known to me, to a old age home. they refused to admit her stating that she is taking medicines for sugar. they said they will admit only healthy old people. i felt it is only money making old age home.

   you intend to do it as social service too.

   i agree With Kile answered above nice suggestions particularly social interactions.

   in fact it is a continuous process of upgrading. interact with them for all their requirements and desires, even ………
