    General description
Charts are designed to represent information or data in a more simpler and easier to understand form. There are many types of charts, all of which are used for different situations. The most well known charts being, histograms, bar graphs, line chart, pie charts, scatter plots and timeline charts. And some less common: doughnut chart, waterfall chart, box plot and radar charts.

    Possible audiences
Charts are mostly used by companies and various other trades. Some charts have actually been invented in the process and are now recognised worldwide. The allele chart originated from the study of genetics, the smith chart is used in radio electronics and a PERT chart is often used in project management.

    Standard Components
Most graphs usually consist of an x and y axis, in a chart such as a pie chart however is another case. The x axis is labelled with a category and the y axis is the frequency. Normally when you use a chart without an x and y axis there is a key included with the diagram. Keys are very useful in that they save time writing the labels; instead a colour code is used as shown in the diagram

    Purpose of this document
Basically charts make it easier to understand large amounts of data, especially when trying establish certain relationships and differences between them. This process can be a lot less time consuming than trying to read data in its raw form, especially when it has been proven that our brains can interpret images a lot easier and quicker than numbers and words.

that’s it.i think it should be divided this way.i hope i helped you with it.

I agree with the answer already given. That is how I would sub-divide it as well.
