In UK, project management practitioners must obtain the PRINCE2 qualification if they are to be employed in government contract work or in a major public company.

PRojects IN Controlled Environments (PRINCE) is a project management method. It covers the management, control and organisation of a project. Accreditation is governed by the passing of two exams the Foundation and the Practitioner. The Foundation exam is a one-hour, multiple choice exam. The Practitioner exam lasts for 2.5 hours, and is an objective-testing multiple-choice exam. Around the world, exams are administered by APMG-International.

PRINCE2 Practitioners must retake the Practitioner exam every 5 years to remain accredited. This re-registration comprises a 1-hour examination set at the same standard as the Practitioner examination.

I need to make a project estimate template thingy for my dad’s small business. I can’t seem to figure out which program to use and how to make it the way I want.

It was once an ambitious plan, to build a fence with the most sophisticated technology along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Originally expected to run about 655 miles, the troubled, multibillion-dollar project has now been reduced to a plan for 387 miles, and its designers have lowered its technical standards to the point that system performance will be deemed acceptable if it identifies less than 50 percent of items of interest that cross the border.

The result, said the Government Accountability Office in a withering report Thursday afternoon, is a system that is unlikely to live up to expectations.

DHS doesnt even have a reliable master schedule for delivering even the first block of SBInet, as the Secure Border Initiative is known.

As a result, it is unclear when the first block will be completed, and continued delays are likely, the GAO said.

Meanwhile, DHS doesnt have a realistic grasp of SBINets future costs, investigators found.

All in all, the report amounted to a grim picture of the projects future, noting its decreasing scope, uncertain timing, unclear value proposition, and limited life cycle management discipline and rigor .

It "remains unclear, the GAO said, whether the departments pursuit of SBInet is a cost effective course of action, and if it is, that it will produce expected results on time and within budget.

Indeed, DHS is rethinking the whole thing, SBINets executive director told Congress, according to the National Journals Nextgov.com Web site.

"Is that the right technology in the right places, or are there better mixes and matches? Mark Borkowski was quoted as telling a joint hearing of two House Homeland Security subcommittees on Thursday.

Can we come up with something that’s a little more rational, that’s tailored to each area of the border?" Borkowski wondered out loud. "My expectation is that we would not end up with SBInet along the border. Already, that doesn’t look like a wise thing to do."

The GAOs findings on the long troubled project, launched with a $2.5 billion contract with Boeing Co. in September 2006, likely came as no surprise to the panels members.

Some directed their irritation at DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, as they had at her predecessor.Representatives expressed frustration that the review Napolitano ordered had not been completed six months after its announcement, according to a report in National Defense magazine.

But DHS insisted that the secretary has already taken action to address the GAOs recommendations.

The Department is redeploying $50 million of Recovery Act funding originally allocated for the SBInet Block 1 to other tested, commercially available security technology along the Southwest border, including mobile surveillance, thermal imaging devices, ultra-light detection, backscatter units, mobile radios, cameras and laptops for pursuit vehicles, and remote video surveillance system enhancements, DHS spokesman Matt Chandler told SpyTalk.

But in the meantime, Chandler said, DHS has frozen all SBInet funding beyond SBInet Block 1s initial deployment to the Tucson and Ajo regions until the full assessment is completed.

I am in a Journalism class in school and I have been assigned, as my final grade for the course, a project that includes making a newspaper with 2 major articles (300-500 words) and 6 minor articles (50-150 words). You will, to get the best effect use Microsoft Publisher they have loads of templates, but seriously I suggest trying to do it on a mac

I’m going to study and read the book but I’m just wondering how difficult the exam is? I went through college and got on deans list, good in math, and good in the project management field.

1. The PMP exam is very, very hard. It’s harder than any exam you’ve ever taken, but the opportunities that PMP certification opens up make it worthwhile.
a. Reading PMBOK alone won’t cut it; only contains about 65% of what’s on the exam.
b. Join a study group through your local PMI chapter, or take a good course.
c. Self-study wastes time.
d. Avoid those 4- or 5-day cram schools. They’re a ripoff.

2. CAPM exam is not as hard, but the CAPM certification has no respect in the job market. On a job candidate’s resume, I consider it the mark of a chump with a weak head for business.
