Help with resources for project management?

If you are a project manager how did you identify the resources for the project you have recently completed in the workplace?

As a project manager I would identify the resources in the workplace for the project I completed by looking at the following things: resource availability (within the organization), resource allocation, resource management and in multi-project environments, resource leveling should be performed across projects.

- The scale at which any company works is directly proportional to the resources present in the organization and available for the project.
- Accurate information on resources available in the organization is required as resources within an orginazation is deployed across multiple projects.

Resources would include: skill type, availability date, using pseudo-resources for capacity planning, resource acquisition, etc. also I would use a timesheet management tool to calculate accurately the time spent by each resource on various activities. I would use resource management to search staff across the global organization.

i’m working on my Human Resource Management project and i want to know "how to enhance recruitment" ?

Does anybody have an idea about how recruitment could be enhanced ?? any recommendations ?? please help this is very important !

How about putting an ad in the local paper asking people to come along for group interviews – with a big clock showing the time that they will be held?

(Worked for me, recruiting for a multinational company – we had 150 applicants turn up on the day).

Had to use existing staff to interview all these people…. which actually worked very well, since they weeded out those they couldn’t work with/didn’t like…..

Obviously, salary is the main reason why anyone would want to work for your company (or not). But, Is there a good pension scheme? Are there several good subsidised restaurants? How about a subsidised dentist on the premises? A prayer room for Muslims? A quiet room for those who need it? A masseuse available?

I worked for a multinational company which offered all these – and still some people were still not happy. Go figure…..

this is project to make a video on time management minimum time is 10 min and must be little funny intertsing these r the requirements
1. Movie must cover any area of Management(planning,organizing,leading,Controlling,Time Management,human resource,Financial Management,etc)
2. Duration of movie is minimum 10 minutes and at maximum 15 minutes.
4. All the groups need to submit their informal 1 page script in the coming Thursday class which i will approve and 3 marks are specified for that.
5. The movie you will make must be properly edited and picture quality should be crystal clear.
6. Each and every member in the must act at least 2 minutes.Otherwise the whole group will be responsible

I don’t understand what you need help with. It sounds like this is a group project so your group needs to pick a area of time management and try to write up a situation concerning it… possibly good example/bad example situation?

i have a project for my class but i can not find what exactly HRM practices are!i know what HRM is but can you enlighten me about the practices?thnx!

Generally I don’t answer questions that want to learn more and more detail: as in your case, because they require a long process, and it is the risk of not solve all of yours problems.
I would suggest to proceed analytically with the help of keywords to be included in Yahoo! From what you climb, narrowing the field with new keywords, until you will be fully satisfied.

What is a good minor for computer science?

I’m pretty sure I’m going to major in Computer Science. I’m wondering what a good minor would be to complement the degree. I don’t think I want to do business admin because I might get an MBA later on and I think the minor would be useless then. I think mostly, is Applied Mathematics is a good minor for a BS in Computer Science?

You’ll get a broader education if you take Software Engineering instead of Computer Science.

Incidentally, make sure your CS degree is CAC/ABET-accredited.

should i change my mba specialization (project management to human resource management)?

i m doing mba in project mangement now i m realizing that i made a mistake because most of the job of project manager needs technical(mostly b.e/b.tech) skills along and i m a simple graduate(b.sc) should i go for hr specialization or continue with pm..please help me..i ll b thankful

Don’t go for higher specialization. Your basics need to be clear, that’s all. If you find any technical difficulty, you can always refer to technical books and enhance your knowledge. don’t waste more time on extra specialization. You already are a specialist.
