If I want to combine the following or atleast make sure all these areas are covered sufficiently under the program I study. These are: Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Transportation, Warehouse Management, Procurement, project management, Planning and Enterprise resource planning

Is there any MBA which covers all these in one Certification/Degree? Please let me know.

Thanks,

You may be interested in looking at programs with a strong manufacturing focus, like the one at MIT. The program at MIT isn’t in fact an MBA at all, but a Master’s in Manufacturing Management.

Some MBA programs do allow you to pull a concentration as part of your MBA, so look for programs that have offerings in the areas you want to study. You’ll then be able to take courses in these areas as your concentration and possibly as electives, in addition to the more general MBA classes.

**Way 1**
"There’s no specific personality trait that is typical as a foul up, though it is typical of management to blame that. The following reasons are primary causes of project failure:

1. Competence – Product/service knowledge
2. Training – in managing projects to their bosses specifications
3. History – Has the person performed previous projects, and has management properly reviewed the successes and failures of those earlier projects.
4. Authority – Are appropriate authority and resources assigned/provided to the individual
5. Clearly stated goals – Are the project goals clearly and appropriately defined for the project
Note – Most of these reasons are not personality related. They are more related to company culture. Viturally every normal personality type can succeed if supported properly. Only after these five items have been eliminated as causes of project failure should personality type of the individual even be considered."

The G&E Construction Company is preparing a bid to build a new 47,000 seat baseball stadium. The construction must start on June 1, 2006, and be completed by April 1, 2009, in time for the start for the 2009 season.

A penalty clause of $50,000 per day of delay beyond April 1, 2009, is written into the contract.

Ben Keith, the president of the G&E Construction, expressed optimism at obtaining the contract and revealed that the company could net as much as $2 million on the project.

Ben also said the prospects for future projects are quite good since there is a projected renaissance in building ball parks with modern luxury boxes.

Alrighty then is there a question here or what ?

Need all the help i can get. Project due on Tuesday!!! Thanks!

1) Self-assessments: employees fill out forms indicating their training needs.

2) Surveys: someone representing HR calls or asks managers what their staff’s training needs are.

3) Audits: someone representing HR observes employees on the job and identify needs.

4) Industry recommendations: Trade associations often compile certification courses/exams/syllabi for their members. These can be used to develop training plans.

Hope this could be of some help.

How do I explain the difference between a project that has a fixed delivery day and one that has a fixed limit on resource usage. Why might a PM be interested in this difference?

I am very new at this and need some help. Thank you

A fixed delivery date means all available resources should be used to meet the date. It also means that the budget may be exceeded, but that needs to be verified. It also may mean that not all of the functionality may be available on the first day. But that too has to be verified and approved by the client.

The second scenario means that other projects may take priority over that project, i.e., additional resources cannot be assigned to help the project with a fixed amount of resources meet its target date.

The PM has to know which criteria have been approved for the project.
If the PM does not know, then it is almost impossible to establish a time-line and allocate resources.
