Dear Yahoo Answerers:
Here is the survey I told some of you I would post. It is a direct copy from last year’s Independent Study project, and I thought if I could get some of you to take it that would be a huge help in continuing the research I plan to do. I realize some of these questions may be personal, and if you do not feel comfortable answering them period I complete understand. However, if you would prefer to answer privately through my email, feel free. Thanks for your help!

Health Insurance Around The World: This survey is for a student
Independent Investigation. It is designed to help me learn about what people know,
their concerns, and opinions about health care systems. Even if some questions make no sense to you, it is preferred that you answer these questions on your own without asking other people. I am hoping to get people of all ages to take this survey, so I can hopefully see a pattern as to which age groups and people are aware or not aware of health insurance flaws. If you have any comments
before or after, please write in the space below. Thank you for taking this survey!

1. Are you an adult (over 18)?
2. Does your family have health insurance?
3. If your family does have health insurance, what company?
4. Do you think that the United States has problems in their health
insurance systems?
5. Have you ever heard about health insurance policies/issues before? If yes, where?
6. Who do you think has health insurance in the United States?
7. In France, the poorest of its people receive free health care. It is
payed for by taxes. Would you be willing to pay these taxes in order for the United State’s poorest people to get free health care?
8. In Spain, if you are not eligible for public health care then you are
practically required to apply for private health insurance. You may not
be let in the country without it. Having private health care allows you to skip waiting lists and to receive treatment faster than those with public health care. A large amount of public healthcare is free or low cost, however it
does not mean it is all free and waiting for treatment may be involved. It comes to the tradeoff of whether you want forced private healthcare with no waits,
or if you prefer public healthcare. This almost ensures that Spain’s
residents all have healthcare, but not at the same cost and quality of treatment. Does this healthcare system appeal to you?
9. If you were in charge of the United State’s healthcare system, what
would health care system would you strive for?
How would you get the money for this health care system?
10. Are you content with health care systems in the United States?
11. What worries you the most?
just fyi: xopshhaaox@yahoo.com

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. BC/BS
4. Yes
5. Yes — news, people, doctor’s offices
6. Most upper middle class and wealthy. Lower middle class with government jobs.
7. No — Because I believe the system is fatally flawed. I think the entire system needs to be revamped before I’d be willing to use tax money for health insurance.
8. No. I think there are better solutions
9. I would strive for a national health INSURANCE plan, not a national HEALTH CARE plan. THAT would be tax supported, but there would be no insurance through employment
10. No
11. That the system will eventually collaspe

OK, you’re on the right track, but you have GLARING spelling and grammar problems. This reads like someone who has only been speaking English for 3-5 years.

For example:
"Design coffer shop" under the "Name"
"Design coffee shop it well began operations in November 2009, and we going to prepare the plans to undertake a small expansion." Instead of "Design coffee shop will begin operations in November 2009, and we going to prepare the plans to undertake a small expansion." You might even try "Design Coffee Shop will begin operations in November 2009. Plans also include undertaking a small expansion with 6-8 months of beginning operations."

Also, what do you mean by "an assortment of other items" as part of you monthly income? Are these the cookies and donuts, or will you be selling the art as well?

You have Employee Taxes, but what about Employee payroll?

Where are you getting your start up capitol for renovations?

Do you money set aside for Rent?

Where in the country is this shop going to be? This will greatly affect your income and expenses.

I have a wall that is framed I could put a patio door on that enters into my workshop. I was wondering if anyone reading this has ever brought thier car "inside" through a patio door. I am looking at the type that swing out from the sides. I have a VW bus that can be about 6′3" tall and not as wide. The only thing I can think of it might be a little hard on the threshold but I don’t plan on using it as a garage door, bring it in, fix it, roll it out. No running indoors. The space is air conditioned and its on my property.

any ideas? Or sources for "old fashoned" garage doors that would provide decent insulation quality? I cant have a roll up due to stairway configurations. I have found a door my project will fit though for $278.00

how about barn doors or lift up door

im doing this business project for school and the topic that i got is production, what we have to do is to make a business plan.
the product that im producing is wedding cakes and the question that i need help with is the quality control measures.i have to describe two measures that the business should adhere to.

for example, persons who are selling jars of peanut butter, you have persons there who randomly grab a jar of pb and check it to see if its in good condition. this is only one that i could think of, i need one more.

please help!!

When your focus is on Quality Control, this can be done at various levels.

Purchase:
When you purchase the raw materials, you can have stringent quality checks to ensure that the items are in good condition. Randomly grabbing a jar of peanut butter is an example of sampling. You may opt for a 100% sampling procedure (that means all items are inspected)

In-process inspection:
I do not know what processes you follow for preparing cakes, but the essential procedure for quality checks remains the same. Suppose there are 5 steps to make the cakes, there must be an inspection technique at the end of every step. This will ensure that poor quality (or those that are not prepared properly) product does not go to the next step. Procedure of sampling remains the same.

At the end of production:
When you have produced your item, it can be inspected before being packed. I dont know how you can inspect a cake, but you can devise a technique for the same.

Post packing inspection:
This is applicable when you are producing and selling in large quantities. Even after packing, a few randomly selected samples may be picked up and inspected..what needs to be inspected and how is your domain.

Machine inspection:
Assuming you are using some kind of machinery for the various steps in cake making, the machinery needs to be checked for cleanliness at certain intervals (say once per day or so).

Promotion

How will you get the word out to customers?

Advertising: What media, why, and how often? Why this mix and not some other?

Have you identified low-cost methods to get the most out of your promotional budget?

Will you use methods other than paid advertising, such as trade shows, catalogs, dealer incentives, word of mouth (how will you stimulate it?), and network of friends or professionals?

Should you have a system to identify repeat customers and then systematically contact them?

How much will you spend on the items listed above? Where will this money come from?

Image

What image do you want to project? How do you want customers to see you?

What plans do you have for graphic image support? This includes things like logo design, cards and letterhead, brochures, signage, and interior design (if customers come to your place of business).

Pricing

Explain your method or methods of setting prices.

Compare your prices with those of the competition. Are they higher, lower, the same? Why?

For most small businesses, having the lowest price might take away from profit margin; large competitors can under price you anyway.

Will you have average prices and compete on quality and service?

Does your pricing strategy fit with what was revealed in your competitive analysis?

How important is price as a competitive factor? Do your intended customers really make their purchase decisions mostly on price?

Proposed Location

Is your location important to your customers? If yes, how?

If customers come to your place of business:

Is it convenient? Parking? Interior spaces? Not out of the way?

Is it consistent with your image?

Is it what customers want and expect?

Where is the competition located? Is it better for you to be near them (like car dealers or fast food restaurants) or distant (like convenience food stores)?

What qualities do you need in a location? Describe the type of location youll have.

Physical requirements:

Amount of space
Type of building
Zoning
Power and other utilities
Access:

Is it important that your location be convenient to transportation or to suppliers?

Do you need easy walk-in access?

What are your requirements for parking and proximity to freeway, airports, railroads, and shipping centers?

Include a drawing or layout of your proposed facility if it is important, as it might be for a manufacturer.

Construction? Most new companies should not sink capital into construction, but if you are planning to build, costs and specifications will be a big part of your plan.

Cost: Estimate your occupation expenses, including rent, but also including maintenance, utilities, insurance, and initial remodeling costs to make the space suit your needs.

What will be your business hours?

Distribution Channels

How do you sell your products or services?

Retail
Direct (mail order, Web, catalog)
Wholesale
Your own sales force
Agents
Independent representatives
Bid on contracts
……I need answers for these in your opinion for a business plan for a landscaping and construction company please help

Thats alot try posting one question at a time.
I do know that word of mouth is the beat way to advertise. Canvassing close neiborhoods door to door offering your services (not being too pushy or passive) can be very effective if you do it wel. "Hi, sorry to bother you. I’m just stopping by advertising for landscaping co. that is currently working in your neiborhood…" Have a flyer with standard prices, offer free estimates. "…and if you schedule today you get ____ for free!

Good luck

I am not an English student or teacher, but this is closer to how it should be written (and I think that there are still things that might be able to be changed but dont know exactly what you are writting about so hard to say for sure.) Hope this helps.

So I’m deciding to go to a state school. I’m very bright and talented, and probably would be more suited into going a private or UC, but I’m deciding to go to a state school on these reasons:

1. I want to practice my independence financially and want to fund my college tuition and living expenses from my own pocket (with the help of the government such as FAFSA). I do not want to depend on my parents (even thought they are undependable) and state school fees are within my ability to pay.

2. I want to major in multiple things and know that would be very easy to do going to a state school (and also going to a local community college by it, I’m going to take a very full load of courses) and the school I want to go to has the programs I desire.

3. I plan on, and am very sure of, maintaining a high GPA with honors, strong teacher – student relationships (recommendations!), high LSAT and other graduate school qualifying tests, and fun and meaningful extracurricular.

4.The idea of going to a state school and becoming someone as intelligent (and have the ability to open doors) as a Stanford educated student is a challenge I want to tackle. It will probably be arduous and full of hard work, but it is something that I will enjoy.

In any case, my real question to you is, with these qualities and projected outlooks in my undergraduate life (multiple majors, high gpa, honors, etc), would it be moderate or extremely hard to get into a high ranking graduate school?

Wow, it is awesome to find people that really care about their future and plan it so well.

1. If you explain some of this in part of your essay for law school it will definitely help you.
2. Major in multiple things? I hope you meant just two at a maximum and minor in something else because if you meant like three or more majors, first you are not being realistic and second the price will be high.
3. Great consider that you might need to study a lot in your own time since teachers at state schools are not going to worry only about one student. (Not all of them)
4. You got the wrong idea of students at top schools. Not all of them are smart, in fact they got it harder to get into a top graduate school because they have to maintain great grades and fight their seat against outstanding students at both their schools and tier 3 schools’ students.

It will be hard but doable. You just need to demonstrate your abilities. Do a lot of extracurricular acts, community service, work, etc, etc. You can do it.

http://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective/jd/apply/undergrads.html
Students from all these schools are at Harvard at this point. Yes, they probably did great, but as I said it is doable.

If you are for example developing software you probably don’t want to be changing plans in midstream.

You would want to "fight the fight you have preparing to fight".

No-one’s disputing that on some projects there can be shortfalls in quality.

But this shortfall may have occurred because of inappropriately responding to false rumours of lack of quality,

So you’re saying that a shortfall in quality was caused because of someone’s reaction to a "shortfall in quality" that didn’t actually exist?

That doesn’t make sense. While their actions may have resulted in added work, their unneeded actions would not have decreased the quality of the work. On the other hand, if the person reacting to a condition has higher standards than one who does not "dispute that on some projects there can be shortfalls in quality", then their efforts would appear over-reactive.

Remember, the Titanic didn’t change course midstream either.

I have about 15 homevideos an hour long each. I am doing it for a school project. I was planning on putting them onto a DVD and presenting to the class. The problem is that my DVD is 4.7 gb and each video is about 1.6-2 gb. I can shrink my videos down so I can fit more on a DVD. how do I know how much I can shrink until the quality is really really bad? I shrunk the video to about 856 mb I think. What would be a reasonable size to shrink the video? Is there anyway I could test this and see if the video is okay or do I have to burn it all and then test it on my DVD player myself? like trial and error? How many 1 hour videos is the average put on a DVD? i’m not talking about 24 the series…there is no menu or nothing just a video. If I can fit 5 one hour videos on the DVD is that okay?
oh…when you say 40% do you mean.

1600 mb to 640 mb….. is okay shrinking
oh…and since it’s a home movie/video there is no credits for the videos….except the one that I need to put in to say I made the video and who helped me

I wouldn’t reduce quality no more than 40%

I’m doing a biography project on Kurt Cobain… I’m planning on making a slideshow with pictures of Nirvana and Kurt. Do you know where I could get some video clips for free to add in? I don’t need their music video’s although parts would be nice… but any concert footage that was well filmed and decent quality? Please reply, thanks!
just as an example www.greendayvideos.com let’s you download all the videos you want for free… isn’t there ANY nirvana fansite similar?

you could also go on google video..you’d have to download a google video player, but it will work.
